Leadership
Keith Thomajan
President and CEO
Keith Thomajan joined United Way of the Columbia-Willamette as President and Chief Executive Officer in February of 2012.
Thomajan is a strategic leader who has an impressive track record in non-profit administration and management and his leadership skills, ability to develop donor and community support and collaborative working style made him the best choice to lead our organization.
Thomajan, 43, has won recognition among his peers as President and CEO of Camp Fire Columbia, where he served since 2001. Formerly chair of the Portland Parks Board, Thomajan has also served as Board Member/President of Hands On Greater Portland. He is currently an advisor to both the PGE/Oregon Community Foundation's "Community 101" program and the All Hands Raised (formerly Portland Schools Foundation) "Cradle to Career" initiative.
In October 2011, he was named Extraordinary Executive Director in Portland Monthly Magazine's 2011 Light A Fire awards, an annual celebration of the nonprofit community. Prior to his service at Camp Fire Columbia, he was director of development for Pacific Crest Outward Bound and program director for Outward Bound's Hurricane Island School in Florida.
Thomajan was also a teacher of history and English in San Francisco. A graduate of Phillips Academy, Thomajan earned a degree in English from Colby College in Waterville Maine. Before graduating Cum Laude, he studied British literature at King's College in London.
