The United Way annual campaign is about bringing people together to tackle our community’s most difficult issues because no one person or organization can do it alone. You have a unique opportunity to tell people how they can be part of the solution. Together, united, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.
What We Do
Advance the common good. That means creating opportunities for a better life for all right here in the four-county metro area. Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. It’s the idea that we are all connected and interdependent; the idea that we all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people are healthy.
How We Do It
We focus on the basic things we all need for a good life: education, income, and health. We research the needs of the community, bring the right people and ideas together, leverage contributions, and invest strategically in programs that achieve results. Our grant funding model ensures collaborations, efficiency, innovation, and accountability.
Why It’s Important
One individual or organization can’t solve our community’s issues alone, especially in these tough economic times. That’s why United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is so important. Working together, united, we are providing individuals and families with emergency support for food, rent, and utilities and creating changes by addressing the underlying cause of a problem.
What You Can Do
Become part of the change. You can volunteer, you can be an advocate, and you can invest in your community by giving to United Way. However you give, you can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow.
