HOW YOUR DOLLARS ARE HELPING

Lisa recently came to Human Solutions for help with her energy bill. She lost her job two months ago, and had been working odd jobs to make ends meet. Her services were disconnected, and she did not have the resources to reconnect the service on her own. With help from the Community Relief Fund, she was able to secure the minimum amount needed to reconnect her utility service.

Mr. Ortega, a resident at Hacienda CDC, works at a Christmas tree farm, but his hours were cut. It was very hard for him to collect money for rent and utilities, and sometimes his family struggled to have money left for food. If they were able to receive help for rent, Mr. Ortega’s salary would be enough to pay food and utilities. Hacienda CDC submitted a request for six months of rent and utility assistance to help stabilize this family. read more
