The Tocqueville Society is a national United Way association created to celebrate individuals who demonstrate exceptional philanthropic leadership. The Society is named after Alexis de Toqueville, a 19th century French historian and aristocrat who admired Americans’ unique spirit of giving. Benefits of United Way Tocqueville Society Membership
When you give an individual or family annual gift of $10,000 or more you become a Tocqueville Society member. To receive benefits, a minimum of $2,500 needs to be invested in United Way’s Community Impact Fund. Tocqueville Society membership benefits include:
- Invitations to exclusive Tocqueville Society events and annual Major Gifts Reception
- Invitations and preferred seating at all United Way events
- Recognition on website.
- Inclusion in the national Tocqueville Society annual Book of Leaders and in United Way of America’s Tocqueville Society directory.
- Special Tocqueville Society lapel pin
United Way Rose Society
For an annual donation of $25,000 or more, you will also be recognized as a member of the "Rose Society" and receive these additional benefits:
- Distinguished recognition in the United Way’s Tocqueville Society annual recognition book
- Nominated for philanthropy awards through national/local organizations
- Special recognition at the Tocqueville Society Major Gifts Reception.
- Invitation to exclusive United Way of America national Tocqueville society events with fellow members throughout the country
