United Way Raises $19.64 Million for Community
|
|
United Way’s annual campaign raised $19.64 million this year, which involved more than 1,000 companies and 30,000 donors who really came together to help our community in these tough times.
Campaign coordinators and volunteers throughout the four-county region were crucial to the success of the campaign. Three companies stood out from the rest, and received the prestigious Campaign Chair’s Award for Excellence for their long-standing commitment to United Way.
Intel Oregon’s campaign raised $5.9 million, representing a 12% increase over last year’s total and set another giving record. Employee contributions accounted for a majority of those dollars which reached an unprecedented $2.9 million in pledges, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Intel Foundation. Intel Oregon also is a proud contributor to United Way’s Cornerstone Partner Program, which allows companies to designate their corporate gifts to underwrite overhead costs for United Way of the Columbia-Willamette.
Benson Industries is recognized for its unwavering dedication and support of our community. Benson’s employee giving and corporate gift increased by 40% this year. Kaiser Permanente employee contributions increased by 69% over last year’s campaign. The 50% corporate match on staff donations represents a 191% increase.
These are just a few of the highlights. Special thanks to campaign coordinators who ran excellent campaigns. Their commitment and enthusiasm exemplifies the spirit of LIVING UNITED.
