United Way of the Columbia-Willamette extends deadline for grant cycle

United Way of the Columbia-Willamette will extend the deadline for applications to its 2012 grant cycle through 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24. The grants are for preapproved local nonprofit organizations working to improve the health, education and economic vitality of the community. A technical issue with the agency’s website, which occurred Saturday evening, was the reason for the extension. Funds for the grant program come from United Way’s Community Giving Campaign. Annual United Way giving campaign raises record amount for community; giving continues to increase

United Way of the Columbia-Willamette has reached a record of giving for the four-county Portland/Vancouver area this year. The organization today announces its 2011-2012 Community Giving Campaign has reached an all-time high of $22,005,560, which is a 4.2 percent increase over last year and the largest campaign total in the organization’s 92 year history. Burgerville supports United Way with all day partnership

United Way of the Columbia-Willamette will receive a percentage of sales from all 38 Burgerville locations on Thursday, March 29 to support the nonprofit’s work to advance the common good and create a better life for all. The fundraising event is part of Burgerville’s annual employee giving campaign, which United Way has been involved in for many years.
