Loaned Executive Program
Every year United Way of the Columbia-Willamette partners with organizations in the Portland/Vancouver area to change lives.
Through our employee giving campaigns, millions of dollars are raised to help leading local health and human service providers. Loaned Executives are essential to helping United Way of the Columbia-Willamette create positive change in our community.
The Loaned Executive program provides intensive classroom and hands-on training in leadership, presentation, sales, project management and organizational and communications skills.
After a comprehensive two-week training, United Way assigns the Loaned Executive to one of our fundraising professionals to:
- Assist with the development and execution of employee campaigns.
- Make presentations to United Way businesses and groups of employees.
- Provide written and verbal progress reports to United Way staff.
Corporate leaders can support the Loaned Executive program in one of two ways:
- LOAN one or more employees to serve the United Way campaign full time for 17 weeks during the months of August through December. Your employee will develop management and leadership skills that could enhance performance in almost any field.
- SPONSOR a Loaned Executive by donating the funds necessary for United Way to hire a quality temporary employee.

- Promising career professionals seeking to grow while giving to their community.
- Dedicated employees facing downsizing or restructuring.
- Recent retirees / volunteers hoping to put their experience and knowledge to work benefiting the community.
