Helping kids succeed in school and life
Schools need our support, and families need help providing all the learning and development a child needs. It takes a whole community working together to give every child the chance to succeed in life.
Some of our youngest kids enter school with big disadvantages - poor social and emotional development, poverty and hunger, no early reading experience. And too many of our teens are dropping out of high school or even graduating without the skills and support they need to succeed in life.
United Way provides:
- Quality child care and early education to prepare kids to succeed in school
- Childhood developmental screenings and early social and emotional consultation services
- After school mentoring, service learning and college and career exploration for middle school and high school youth
- Training and resources for child care providers and teachers
- Parent education and support
