President/CEO United Way Portland, Oregon

The Portland-based United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is looking for its next great leader. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an exceptional record as an executive level leader and convener, with the ability to bring clarity and focus to United Way’s role of achieving enhanced community impact, extended volunteer engagement and greater financial support for its mission-focused work. The ability to powerfully and passionately communicate the organization’s mission of helping people, changing lives and making every contribution count is also required.

The candidate of choice must be strategic and tactical managing change and experienced in aligning organizational and community resources to achieve business outcomes. A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years executive/senior level experience is required. Evidence of success achieving results within United Way, other nonprofits or in the business or public sectors as well as major volunteer leadership experience will be considered.

Account Manager

United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible individuals for several temporary, full-time Account Manager positions for its fall 2008 campaign.  Make a difference in our community by raising funds for health and human service programs.  This is a great leadership development and networking opportunity!  Compensation of $500/week plus business-related expenses.  Timeframe: August 11-December 15, 2008.  Position closes July 13.  Invitations to interview will be extended the week of July 14.  For more information on this position click here.
