Volunteerism

Through United Way of the Columbia-Willamette’s volunteer program, Hands On Greater Portland, we connect thousands of volunteers to projects that directly benefit kids and families in our region.

Highlights from our 13th Annual MLK Weekend of Service

As part of our 13th annual MLK Weekend of Service, our largest volunteer event of the year, more than 1,200 volunteers joined UWCW for a day “on” in honor of Dr. King and contributed over 3,500 hours of service to over 60 volunteer projects. Even during the COVID-19 crisis, our volunteer program continues to provide opportunities for community members to support our nonprofit partners, from organizing in-kind donation drop offs to sewing masks for vulnerable community members.
